Hi, and welcome to the Kindness Seeds Project, we're Sam and Jack from Dilly Dally Farm.

After struggling for many years at school, and following Jack's dyslexia diagnosis in December 2025, we started gardening as a way to spend more time outdoors together, reducing screen time and exploring different ways to learn outside of the classroom.

We planted hundreds of seeds. Every day before and after school, Jack would look after our seedlings. We spent our weekends sowing seeds and potting on, pinching, thinning and watering, and planning our summer raised beds.

​

In March 2026, a storm tore through our garden, destroyed our greenhouse, and all our hard work. We lost most of our seedlings and were pretty devastated. At the time we had around 200 followers on Instagram and some very kind people who had been following our journey started to send us replacement seeds, more arrived every day, with notes of encouragement and support. Eventually we had so many seeds we knew we wouldn't be able to sow them all. Then, Jack had an idea!

The thoughtfulness of others blew us away, it made us both so happy that Jack wanted to share the kindness and make others smile. So one day in spring, he sat down and drew out his plan for 'The Kindness Seeds Project'. To date, we have sent out over 400 packets of seeds (we now have shares in Royal Mail!) and have a lovely community of kind-hearted friends who are growing and sharing their flowers and seeds.

But it doesn't stop there! We are now onto bigger things and, with your help, we're trying to get every school gardening! Having seen first hand the amazing impact it has had on Jack, and our family, we want to give schools the resources to provide outside opportunities for other children.

​

So, here's how it works.... if you buy a packet of our own seeds, harvested at Dilly Dally Farm, we will send a packet to a school. If you subscribe to our Kindness Seeds Boxes, we will set a school up with everything they need to get gardening. You can also help by nominating a school, spreading the word and growing our little kindness community!
